Per Axbom

Per AxbomHello. I’m a digital strategist and experience designer. I love turning knowledge into insights, ideas and inspiration that make design and communication more reliable and efficient.

I’ve worked successfully for many years with the strategy, concept development and design of digital solutions:

  • Data collection – Such as contextual interviews, field studies, tests and analysis
  • Idea generation (ideation) – With methodology such as experience mapping and many other innovative tools, I help you prioritize and differentiate offerings and solutions
  • Design – This is how we solve the task, illustrated with interaction design, flow charts and prototypes
  • Measurement – Analysis to ensure that we are on track and to identify any required changes
  • Optimization – I fine-tune design solutions for better performance as we learn more and get more data
  • Coaching and Training – I teach you and your organization within the realms of strategy, tactics and methodology

Many sites are similar to each other in, and if we look by industry – at banks for example – there are not a whole lot of differences in functionality. It’s the organization’s ability to create a relationship with the person visiting the site that will determine its success. This is where I come in.

Walking the walk: I’ve been there

I have worked for almost 15 years with web strategy, information and design issues for websites, intranets and web based applications.

My background is in usability, interaction and experience design. My passion is the challenge of facilitating efficient communication on the web, be it an article, a web form or a navigation solution.

Talking the talk: It’s all conversation

By sharing and interacting with colleagues and like-minded people, we all contribute to the creativity, skills and passion and the personal satisfaction of creating great new stuff together.

My commitment and ability to embrace all that the Internet provides in the form of communication has given me opportunities to appear at conferences and company events as  a speaker on web trends and social media. I’ve been blogging since 1998, regularly write both online and offline articles, have run 3 podcasts (currently uxpodcast.com), and thanks to my passion — and my readers’ passion — for digital communication my Swedish blog axbom.se is today one of the biggest in Sweden on web strategy and experience design.

No web strategy without real value

One of the really awesome phenomena of the Internet is that corporate communications has the ability to actually become a real dialogue, not the soulless information it has been for many years. And when we communicate, both listening and responding, digital media measurement can help understand how successful the dialogue is, just by being a little more attentive.

As an added bonus, we can create dialogue with our stakeholders at a fraction of the cost compared to just 15 years ago, and with a potential reach of a magnitude that is staggering to imagine.

“You don’t make strategy so that there’s one path to victory; you make it so that as many paths as possible lead to something which isn’t loss. At least you do unless you want to die.”
– The Gone-Away World by Nick Harkaway
